It just keeps on getting better, doesn't it? Congratulations. Does this mean you'll have two trips to the US in the one year?

I was already going twice! Once for the LA Times Book Prize/Nebulas (April-May), once for the Michael L. Printz Honor (June). Three is getting crazy, eh.

Maybe you should just stay there! No, sorry, getting carried away now.

"Singing My Sister Down" is totally worthy of the nomination. I just now read it. Exquisite. Beautiful and splendidly creepifying.

So you know - I saw a link to the list of Hugo nominees on Avedon Carol's The Sideshow, http://www.sideshow.me.uk/ (April 15), and got to your story from that list.

Congratulations.

Thank you, jitterfug. The beauty of these nominations is that they give the story/book a chance to reach new audiences. I'm glad you liked 'SMSD'.

Dear Ms. Lanagan,

I'm sorry to post this in a public forum, but I haven't been able to find an e-mail address for you and this seemed like the most direct way to reach you.

I'm the editor of Escape Pod, a short fiction podcast. I'd like to e-mail you about the possibility of buying rights to record and podcast "Singing My Sister Down," to increase its exposure to Hugo voters and the general audience. If this is of any interest to you, please contact me at editor@escapepod.org and I'll be happy to give you more detail.

Thanks for your time, and congratulations on the nomination! It's a wonderful story; I was haunted by it.
