I write fiction. My latest novel is Sea Hearts, published by Allen & Unwin in Australia—this novel is published as The Brides of Rollrock Island by David Fickling Books and Jonathan Cape in the UK, and will come out under that title from Knopf in the US in September 2012. I've also written Tender Morsels and four short story collections: White Time, Black Juice, Red Spikes and Yellowcake.

Did you ever see those Batfink cartoons when you were a kid. The ones about the bat detective with the steel wings and the oriental offsider? He'd send out his supersonic sonic radar, and I'm pretty sure it was a loud PEEP PEEP image.
Jonathan, I checked on the Batfink website (they have the Milton the Monster intro there too). I'm sorry, but it's BEEP BEEP.
